Venue: Hong Kong Open Printshop, L8-06, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, 30 Pak Tin Street, Shek Kip Mei, Kowloon, Hong Kong

This 2-day Printmaking Workshop led by the artist Nastaran Shahbazi is presented by Mur Nomade and hosted at the Hong Kong Open Printshop. It complements the exhibition Recollections currently on view at Mur Nomade.

Nastaran Shahbazi is an Iranian artist, living and working between Paris and Hong Kong. Trained in both graphic design and visual arts, she developed a strong interest in printmaking during her studies and was a member of the Etching Studio of the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris between 2009 and 2014. She is well known for her experimentations with the medium, and has exhibited original etchings in various solo and group exhibitions.

During this multi-level workshop, the participants will explore the whole process of copperplate etching from the creation of their own plates to the use of aquatint and the production of an etching print. They will learn various techniques including line etching, acid free etching, spray paint aquatint, embossing and monotype.

  • Open to adults with art background, experienced in sketching and drawing.
  • Prior experience in printmaking is not required
