Beatrix Pang is a visual artist, independent publisher and photo-class teacher, currently living and working in Hong Kong. Graduated in Photography with bachelor degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and with master degree at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in Norway. In 2009, Pang received the Asian Cultural Council fellowship for cultural exchange and research in the U.S.A. After returned to Hong Kong, she co-founded KLACK Photography and Cultural Magazine, and started her one-person independent press – Small Tune Press the following year and running till now. The press focuses on producing, publishing and promoting artists’ books in an unique perspective, and furthermore to introduce and advocate small scale indie publishing production from individual to a broader community of general public.
New work《BOI》- a piece combined photography, interviews and drawings, is an ongoing art project by inviting the participation of female migrant workers whom dresses and acts like Tomboy from Indonesia and Philippines currently living and working in Hong Kong, the first episode of this project had been showing in an exhibition “After Work” at Para Site in Hong Kong.
